Carteret Community College provides
many academic resources. Among them are Academic Support, which offers
free services such as tutoring in all subjects, placement testing,
makeup testing, a quiet place for studying, proofreading, and there is
special help offered for students with disabilities. The Computer Lab
is also free and provides help with computer technology as well as
technological support for students.
The campus Book Store has available all required texts for
the current semester. In addition, they also stock a wide selection of
general school supplies such as paper, composition books, pencils,
pens, hi-liters, binders, disks, calculators and much more.
Other Academic Resources include Student Support
Services, which provide help to disadvantaged students and the NSF ATE
Grant whose goal is to improve curricular coherence between community
college and upper division courses of study.
The Prometric Testing Center located in the Wayne
West building offers exams from a wide range of vendors, including
CompTIA, Novell, CISCO, and Hewlett Packard.
Publications available through academic resources
are the Beacon, College Catalog, Student Handbook, and the Acceptable
Use Policy.
