Credo is an easy-to-use tool for research projects and homework. Search in hundreds of encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, quotations, and subject-specific titles, as well as 200,000+ images and audio files, and nearly 200 videos.
A.D.A.M. Interactive Anatomy

A.D.A.M Interactive Anatomy includes 3D anatomy, clinical illustrations and animations, and a multimedia encyclopedia. This resources allows you to view and dissect the human body layer-by-layer and review illustrations of pre-pinned body parts, organs, structures and systems.

Magill's offers online reference materials for consumer health information. At this time, the available reference sets are: Cancer, Magill's Medical Guide and Psychology and Mental Health.

(a) Magazines and Journals
Nearly all of the magazines, newspapers, and other periodicals available to CCC students can be accessed from off-campus. Want to know if a particular title is available electronically? Go to the NC LIVE homepage and look for the "Journal Title Search" button just above the "Live Help Chat" box on the left. Or if you are researching a topic, search thousands of journals at once using one of the many databases, such as Academic Search Premier. The Magazine Index is a pdf document that lists the print magazines and journals that are available in the library . You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the file.
(b) Off-Campus Assistance
A librarian is usually available during regular hours to assist you with any research-related questions. You can call the Information Desk at 252.222.6247 or chat with us by instant message. During off-hours, consider sending a question via web form or email Eva Earles at firstname.lastname@example.org.
(c) Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free service for CCC students that enables you to borrow books or articles from other libraries through CCC Library. It can take approximately 10 business days to receive a loan through ILL, so submit your requests early. Please be aware that Interlibrary Loan books cannot be mailed directly to you; requested items must be picked up at the CCC Library Circulation desk. Additional information about our Interlibrary Loan Services is located under the "Services" tab at the top of this page.

Cell Phone Use
Please turn off cell phones or set ringer to vibrate before to entering the Library. Cell phones may used outside on the breezeway or the exterior foyer.
The Library is a quiet area. Please be considerate of others -- no loud talking, singing, whistling, use of profane language or disruptive behavior. Children under the age of 16 must be supervised at all times by an adult while on campus or in the Library per College policy.
Food & Drink
Please dispose of open food or drink containers before entering the Library. Please do not place drinks of any kind on computer desks or take into the book stacks.
E-mail and Internet searching are not guaranteed to be private in a public environment. Please see library staff regarding any privacy concerns before transmitting personal information.
Internet Access Policy
The purpose of the Library Internet Access Policy is to enhance and support the Mission of Carteret Community College. All CCC students, employees and guests are responsible for using CCC's Internet resources in an effective, ethical and lawful manner.
Computers in the library are intended to provide access to the library catalog, electronic library resources, the Internet, and Microsoft Office applications.
They may be used to search for information, research paper topics, and explore personal interests within the guidelines of the college's Technology Acceptable Use Policy.
The TAUP does not allow certain activities on the college's network.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Pornography or offensive content
- Games of any kind
- P2P file sharing programs
- Profit-making enterprises
Computer Usage & Sign-In
The library has 18 computers with Internet access, Microsoft Office, front USB ports, 3½ floppy drives and CD burning. CCC students have first priority for the use of computers in the library. Guest users need to show a valid state or federal ID to to use a computer. By logging in, the user is agreeing to comply with the Library Internet & Computer Use Policy.
We have have a b&w and a color printer available for printing. The printers are located at the Circulation Desk. The cost is $0.10 per page for b&w and $0.50 per page for color. Print outs may be picked up and paid for at the Circulation Desk.
There are scanners attached to two computers in the library for. If you need assistance with the operation of a scanner please inquire at the Ask Us Desk.
It is $1.00 per page to send or receive a fax. Please be sure that your name and phone number are on any received faxes for notification purposes.

A black & white photocopier is available at $0.10 per page. If you need assistance with operating the copier, please inquire at the Information Desk.
Interlibrary Loan Services
The Interlibrary Loan service allows you to borrow books and journal articles from other libraries through CCC Library.
Items can either be borrowed through the library's catalog system using your library card and PIN numbers or through the library's ILL staff person. It can take up to ten (10) business days to receive an item through ILL. To determine which method of Interlbrary Loan will work best for you, contact Susan Hopkins at 252.222.6213 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

ILL Fees and Fines
For CCC Library's public patrons, there is a nonrefundable $3.00 Request fee for each ILL request. This fee is due at the time the request is made. When the request is filled, the patron will be charged a $2.00 Filled request fee. This fee is due when the item is picked up.
Some lending libraries charge for loans or photocopies, and we must pass these charges along to the patron. So be prepared to tell us how much you are willing to spend.
There is a $0.75 per day per item fine that applies to all patrons for overdue Interlibrary Loans.
Fines for lost or damaged Interlibrary Loans is determined by the lending library and passed on to the patron.
