Computers
The library has 16 IBM compatible computers with Internet
access, Microsoft Office, front USB ports, 3½ floppy
drive and CD burning capabilities. During busy periods
there is a 30 minute time limit for computer usage.
CCC students have first priority for the use of the
computers.
Fax Services
A fax machine is available at the circulation desk
for student and public use. It is $1.00 per page to
send or receive a fax. If you are having a fax sent
to you, please have the sender include your name and
phone number on the fax so that the library can contact
you when it is received.

Laptop computers
The library has 32 wireless laptop computers with Windows
XP, 24 of the laptops have MS Office 2003 and 8 laptops
have MS Office 2007. The laptops are for student use
in the library only.
Microform Reader/Printer
The library has two microform reader/printers for the
viewing of microfilm/microfiche. It is recommended
that you call to schedule a time for using the equipment.
Copies can me made from the microfilm/microfiche at
$0.15 per copy. If you need assistance operating a
reader, please inquire at the Information Desk.
Photocopying
The library has a black & white photocopier available
for copying at $0.10 per page. If you need assistance
with operating the copier, please inquire at the Information
Desk.
Printing
The library has two printers available for public use
located at the Circulation Desk. The cost is $0.10
per page for black & white and $0.50 per page for
color. All print outs must be picked up and paid for
at the Circulation Desk; if you need assistance, please
inquire at the Information Desk before printing.
Scanners
There are 3 computers in the library with scanners.
If you need assistance with the operation of a scanner
please inquire at the Information Desk.
Typewriters
The library has an electric typewriter available on
a first-come first-served basis. Users should supply
their own typing paper. Please inquire at the Information
Desk for more information.
Wireless Internet Access
The library has wireless Internet access available
to curriculum students to use with their personal laptop
or one of the library's laptops, the student must be
currently registered with Carteret Community College
to access the wireless network.
Public patrons can use their laptops in the library,
but cannot connect it to the wireless network or any
of the desktop computers.
Word Processing
All of the computers in the library are IBM compatible
computers and have word processing. The available word
processing programs are MS Office 2003 & Corel
WordPerfect. Users should have some knowledge of how
to operate either of these word processing programs. |
