Library Rules

  • Food or Drink
    No open food or drink containers in the Library; these items should be left at the Circulation Desk or disposed of, before entering the Library. Closed drink bottles and securely closed food containers may be brought in but should be kept closed at all times. Do not set drinks of any kind on computer desks.
  • Cell Phone Use
    There is no cell phone use in the Library at all. Turn off or set ringer to silence cell phones and pagers prior to entering the Library. Take and make all cell phone calls outside of the Library. Cell phones may used outside on the breezeway or the exterior foyer. You will be asked to leave the Library if this policy is not complied with.
  • Public Phones
    Library phones are not for public use. There is a payphone in front of the building and house phones available in the Student Center and McGee Building.
  • Behavior
    The Library is a quiet area. Be considerate of others -- no loud talking, singing, whistling, use of profane language or disruptive behavior. Do not disrupt the Library with noisy or disorderly conduct.
  • Minors
    Children under the age of 16 must be supervised at all times by an adult while on campus or in the Library per College policy. When asked for by Library staff, a photo ID is needed to verify age and identification.
  • AHS and GED Students
    Adult High School and GED students are not permitted in the Library during class times unless accompanied by their instructor.
  • Computer Time
    There is a 30 minute time limit for use of Library computers during busy times. CCC students have priority on all Library equipment and resources, including Library staff time.
  • Computer Usage
    Objectionable material is not allowed on Library computers. This includes, but is not limited to, videos, images, online chats, and instant messaging as well as web sites that have pornographic and/or offensive content.
  • Printing
    All print outs must be paid for. If you are unsure of how to print in the Library please ask Library Staff for assistance before printing.
  • Downloading
    Check with Library Staff before downloading or installing any software program to a computer. The software program may be in violation of the CCC TAUP (Technology Acceptable Use Policy) .
  • Unattended Belongings
    Please do not leave your belongins unattended in the Library.
    Unattended belongings will be moved to the Information Desk after 15 minutes.
    The Library is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
