When searching the catalog for library materials, it is important to check the collection as there are various collections in the library. These collections include the following:
Audio Book Collection
We have a large collection of fiction and non-fiction books on cassette and CD available for check out. These are located in the
Magazine Reading area.
Bestsellers Collection
Current fiction and non-fiction bestsellers are located on the book shelves next to the Circulation Desk.
Biography Collection
Our biographies are located next to the Circulation Desk, on the wall with New Books and Bestsellers.
Colleges & Careers Collection
A large variety of books on careers, colleges, and financial aid are located on the bookshelf and the index table next to the
Information Desk.
Encyclopedias
Our print encyclopedias are in the Reference section which is located in the first row, second section of the bookcases.
Film Collection
A wide variety of films from the last 100 years. Includes silents, classics, Oscar winners, as well as more recent popular movies.
Genealogy & Local History:
We have several locally published family histories and census microfilm for North Carolina, as well as local history materials.
Census microfilm are located at the back of the library across from the Reference section and Genealogy CDs are located in the
Ready Room. Books and reference materials are located in the Genealogy section, across from the Health & Fitness section.
Health & Fitness
Books, videos and audio books on health and fitness are located in the first section of the Main Book collection.
International Collection
The International Collection consists of books, audio tapes and videos for English as a Second Language, materials in Spanish, books,
audio cassettes and CDs for learning another Language and books on world Travel and world Cultures. This collection is located
in the Magazine Reading area.
Law Library
We have an extensive collection of legal research materials, which cover both state and federal law.
New Book Collection
New nonfiction books, generally subject specific and curriculum related; these books are located in the book shelves next to the Circulation Desk.
Main Book Collection
The majority of the library's collection is located in the Main Book Collection.
Music Collection
Music recordings on CD and cassette.
