Cosmetology

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Submit application.

2. Must be eighteen (18) years of age or high school class must have graduated.

3. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

4. Must complete placement tests satisfactorily.

5. Must have official transcripts forwarded from high school and all colleges attended.

6. Interview with Cosmetology Faculty.

7. Applicant must hold a current North Carolina Cosmetology License.

8. If applicant is entering from another state, applicant must be able to produce a Cosmetology License from the state in which they have practices, and secure a North Carolina cosmetology License prior to acceptance in the program.

9. Applicant must demonstrate proof that they have practiced Cosmetic Art full time in a salon for a minimum of six (6) months.

10. Acceptance of students from out of state or out of the country will be determined by a review of the students records on a case-by-case basis.

11. Applicants who have practiced Cosmetic Art less than five (5) years will be required to complete 800 contact hours.

Additional Information:

Upon completion of this course, applicants are required to make 85 or better on their Cosmetology Instructors State Board exam before they will be issued a license.

Prerequisites:

1. Must hold current North Carolina cosmetology license.

2. Prefer to have practiced cosmetic art in a salon for a minimum of six (6) months.

3. 3 letters of reference.
