in this new century.
 Field Trips and WorkshopsField Trips and Workshops  Teaching "cutting edge" technology is a key to the success of the Photography Technology program at Carteret Community College. Earning an Associates Degree in Photography once entailed learning basic camera operation, composition and darkroom techniques. Now it is learning these things and so much more.
   
 Scanning and Web Page DesignScanning and Web Page Design  Over the past 10 years the program has incorporated a complete digital imaging component which includes training in Adobe Photoshop, IMovie, Final Cut pro, computers, digital camera's, scanning, desktop publishing and multi-media production.
     
 Hands on training with Konica Mini-LabHands-On Training with Konica Mini-Lab  The Photography Curriculum has a complete "state of the art" color mini-lab to its new facility which is used to train students in photo finishing and all aspects of color photography. Curriculum Coordinator, Cathy Crowell states that the Konica mini-lab enhances the marketability of photography graduates which is a primary goal of the program. She added that training students in digital technology, multi-media production and mini-lab operation prepares her students for the highly competitive field of photography. Graduates of the program are exploring a wide range of career options.

 Graduates of the program are not only going into traditional photography careers like photojournalism and commercial illustration but are also finding opportunities in publishing, web page design, lab management and telecommunications.

 Technology is rapidly changing and the goal of Carteret Community College's Photography Program is to stay abreast of those changes, teach the latest imaging technology to its students and most of all work at helping students attain their dreams of working in an exciting and dynamic field.
