A college education is a major investment. However, it is an investment of time, dedication, and money that will seem small when you realize the profits of such an education. Carteret Community College offers financial assistance on the basis of need and academic progress. The College believes that no student who is determined to gain a college education should be denied the opportunity because of financial need. There is, in most cases, financial aid available if the eligible student applies in time and completes all of the required forms properly.

Who Is Eligible For Aid?

All first-time, returning, transfer students are encouraged to apply for aid. Eligibility is based on need-based system as well as the number of credit hours being taken, and in some cases, the program of study in which the student is enrolled. Special assistance may be available for single parents

Sources Of Financial Aid

Carteret Community College disburses financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and employment. A grant is money which does not need to be repaid. A federal loan must be repaid once you leave school, or drop below half time. A scholarship, which does not have to be repaid, is money awarded under special conditions, usually in recognition of outstanding achievements. Work-study provides the opportunity to work part time in administrative and departmental offices, the library, laboratories, bookstore, and other sites on campus. Mail in your federal aid application and/or see the Financial Aid Officer if you have questions about the above information.
