Welcome to Admissions at Carteret Community College

 

At this time, Carteret Community College is not authorized to provide distance learning courses to individuals residing outside of North Carolina.

 

 Carteret Community College operates under an "Open Door" admissions policy, in accordance with North Carolina Administraive Code NCAC 23 2C.0301.

 

 Carteret Community College is a coeducational institution open to any individual who meets the admission requirements and criteria for the particular course in which they choose to enroll.

 

 Each applicant is encouraged to seek early admission information and counseling during the admissions process. This will enable the applicant to make a wise decision in his/her choice of study as indicated by identified needs, interests, and abilities.

 

 If an applicant fails to meet the admission requirements and criteria for the applicants program of choice, a member of the counseling staff will help the applicant plan a preparatory program of study. The counselor, working with the applicant, may recommend a program more suitable to the individuals ability, aptitude, and educational background. 

 

 

HOW TO GET STARTED AT CARTERET COMMUNITY COLLEGE

 

  • Step One: APPLY TO THE COLLEGE

  •  
    • See Programs of Study to select the program to which you are applying. Go to Curriculum Programs.

    • If you are unsure of a program and would like to explore various careers, go to Plan for a Career.

    • Complete an online application for admission. Go to Online Application.

    • For further information, contact the admissions office at admissions@email.carteret.edu or call (252) 222-6293.

    • All students using Veterans Educational Benefits must submit official transcripts.

    • Students in the following programs must submit official transcripts: Health Science and Basic Law Enforcement Training.

    • Students wanting transfer credit from other schools must submit official transcripts.

       

  • Step Two: FINANCE YOUR EDUCATION

    • Determine payment: cash, third party payments, tuition waiver or financial aid.

    • Complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Go to www.fafsa.gov .

    • The financial aid office will send an email to your school email account listing additional required documents. Submit all supporting documents by the college deadline.

    • The school code for Carteret Community College is 008081.

    • Credit card payments are made online using WebAdvisor or cash/check payments are made at the business office in the McGee Building, Room 144.

    • To pay online, go to Web Advisor and use the login you were given in your welcome letter. Then click on Financial Information   Pay On My Account.

    • Review the academic calendar and be aware of the non-payment drop dates. All tuition must be paid in full or guaranteed by your financial aid award by these dates or your courses will be dropped. Go to Academic Calendar.

    • Visit the bookstore in the Bryant Student Center and purchase books for your courses.

       

  • Step Three:  DETERMINE COURSE PLACEMENT

  • Step Four: ATTEND ORIENTATION

  • Step Five: SELECT CLASSES AND REGISTER

    • All students attending college for the first-time must schedule an appointment to see a counselor for approval to register.  Contact the Advising and Counseling Center at (252) 222-6060 to make this appointment.

    • Transfer students and students returning to Carteret Community College should contact their assigned program advisor to schedule an appointment for advising and approval to register.

    • Register online for your counselor approved courses using WebAdvisor.

    • Go to Web Advisor and use the login you were given in your welcome letter.
