Distance Learning Orientation

 

Before you can enroll in an online or hybrid course, you must first take our Distance Learning Orientation. Even if you are not planning to register for a DL course now, it is advised that you go ahead and complete the orientation. All courses at Carteret Community College use a Learning Management System called Moodle and information in this orientation will also help you understand how to navigate within the Moodle platform to use the resources for all of your courses.

 

After completing an application, the Admissions office will mail you a letter with steps of what to do next. In that letter, it explained to you what your WebAdvisor username was. Your Moodle username is the same but the Moodle password will be changeme for the first time login. Once you login, youll be asked to input that password again and pick a new password and verify the new password. If you have misplaced that letter and need to verify what your WebAdvisor username is, you can visit the Web Advisor website and choose What is my User ID.

 

One you know your Web Advisor user ID, you can proceed to take the Distance Learning Orienation. Once you are there, you will need to put in your Moodle username (same as your Web Advisor user ID) and the password. For new users, remember that the initial password is changeme. If you have used Moodle before, use the password you have already established.

 

After completing the Distance Learning Orienation, you will be issued a certificate in .pdf format that you can download and provide to instructors as evidence of your completion.
