Trustee Terry Frank
Our hearts are heavy from the passing of Mr. Terry Frank, a friend, a mentor, and a leader. As a member of the College Board of Trustees, Terry truly embodied the mission of Carteret Community College by improving the quality of life for all citizens of Carteret County and eastern North Carolina.
After moving to Carteret County in 2000, Mr. Frank became increasingly involved in the community devoting countless hours to long-range planning, economic development, workforce development, education and job training.
Terry was committed to helping his community improve their lives and showed his support and dedication to Carteret County by volunteering his time for government, planning and education. He was a Carteret County Commissioner, a member of the Transportation Committee, on the Carteret Health Care Board of Trustees, on the Economic Development Council Board of Directors, and on the Eastern Carolina Job Training Consortium.
Terry and his wife, Maryanne also helped countless students at Carteret Community College. Terry and Maryanne founded the “Frank Door Fund” and have donated nearly $270,000 to the college. They also set up a Frank Door Scholarship Program for Frank Door employees and their families. Terry and Maryanne enthusiastically support the College’s Building Our Future Together campaign and recently made a naming donation for the Baking & Pastry Lab in the future Hospitality & Culinary Arts Center. “I have found that education is the key to success,” said Frank. “Carteret Community College is a local key we can provide. I am proud to be a part of that process as a trustee.”
The Frank family is requesting a gift to the Carteret Community College Building Our Future Capital Campaign in lieu of flowers.
