Medical Coding Professional
The Medical Coder is responsible for assigning the correct diagnosis and procedure codes, entering the necessary information into the patient’s account and submitting the claims to the insurance companies. Certified coders earn approximately 20% more than their non-certified counterparts, with certified professional. This program can lead to the national Certified Professional Coder® (CPC) certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). The Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential is the gold standard for medical coding. This is a hybrid course (partial online and part in the classroom). You will need to have access to the internet to complete class work and submit homework. Prerequisites: Medical Terminology and a TABE reading test score of 0.8 required.
